Alto Velo Racing Club

###Alto Velo Club History The Alto Velo Bicycle Racing Club is one of America's top amateur cycling clubs. Based in the Silicon Valley of California, Alto Velo supports and encourages bike racing across all categories, with a special emphasis on master's and women's racing. The club also has strong elite men's and women's teams to complement the masters racers. 2003 saw the elite men spin off a Tier III professional team (Webcor Cycling Team), while 2004 saw the elite women spin off to form the feminine branch of Webcor Cycling. 2006 brings yet another emphasis to the club – a juniors program led by Linelle Northcott. Additionally, each year the club promotes the Pescadero Coastal Classic – one of the toughest races on the Northern California Racing Calendar. The club was founded in late 1992, and was voted the USCF Best First Year Club in 1993. Alto Velo currently has over 200 members. For the sixth year in a row, Webcor Builders is the club's primary sponsor, continuing a successful partnership between the club and Webcor. Andy Ball, the CEO of Webcor, is an enthusiastic supporter of bicycle racing, and a cyclist himself, and their generous sponsorship helps to fund our racing activities throughout the year.
